Man from Kasargod arrested over false news of Mollywood actor Mohanlal's death

Kasargod, Apr 11: A man from the district was arrested by the police for spreading fake news of renowned actor of Malayalam actor Mohanlal's death.

B Sameer, resident of Padi in the district, is the person who was arrested by police in this connection.

The accused was arrested by the team that was led by Tiruvananthapuram range Circle Inspector G K Sanjay Kumar.

On April 1, Sameer shared a post on Facebook claiming that Mohanlal has died due to coronavirus infection. The social media user also shared an image of the actor from a movie in which he was lying down dead.

The Facebook post soon went viral, and social media users urged Kerala police to take strict actions against the person who spread this hoax message.
