Mangaluru: Canara Engineering College switches to online classes amidst lockdown

Mangaluru, Apr 8: Due to the lockdown and long missing regular academic activities Canara Engineering College has switched to online academic activities from the past two weeks.

Microsoft team tools, Skillrary, Zoom are the online platforms being used for the academic activities which the faculty and students were found to be responding actively.

Thus, teach from home and learn and work from home concepts are available online for the Canarites at present.

Various HoDs meeting with the principal and department level faculty meetings are being carried out online using available audiovisual communication tools. Online video lectures, courses, classes, notes, question bank sharing, assignments, online discussions, project details, exams on the trial basis among others are the various activities conducted on these online platforms successfully. WhatsApp groups and other social media options are also being used for academic activities keeping given the AICTE directives for academic activities in this period.

The principal Dr Ganesh V Bhat along with the HoDs has been guiding these online activities. H Nagesh Shenoy and Alok Ranjan from the faculty are backing the online platform with their technical expertise.

"In addition to this all the HoDs, faculty, staff and students are happily involved in the best possible social service activity in the fight against COVID-19 at their native places in support of the government directives and are eager to extend any type of assistance in best possible manner," Dr Ganesh V Bhat said.
