Bantwal: Man taking bath in river slips to death

Bantwal, Apr 4: A person who had visited River Falguni near Bandasale in the taluk accidentally slipped and drowned in the river. This tragic incident happened on Friday April 3.

The victim of the incident was Thimmappa Poojary (70) from Tadyala in Arala village in the taluk. He along with his grandson, had approached the river for taking bath. As soon as he stepped into the river, he lost balance and fell into the river. He could not muster enough strength to recover and come out of water. His grandson then ran home and informed the other family members. Local divers scouted for his mortal remains and found the body sometime later.

A case about this accident was registered in rural police station here. The police have begun investigation.
