89 Tablighi Jamaatis quarantined in Agra


Agra, Mar 31 (IANS): Agra Police have so far rounded up 89 faithfuls who are believed to have attended the Tablighi Jamaat religious congregation in Nizammuddin Markaz in New Delhi from March 13-15 from different mosques and localities in the city.

All have been taken to a resort near Sikandra to be placed under quarantine. The hunt continues for another half a dozen people, according to sources here.

The Delhi Police on Tuesday identified around 1,800 persons from various states who had attended the religious congregation at the Tablighi Jamaat's international headquarters in Nizamuddin Markaaz in southwest Delhi from March 13-15, even as 24 coronavirus positive cases have been reported from among those who assembled there.
