Mangaluru: Humanity at its best – Muslim woman pledges jewellery to take care of Hindu neighbour

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Mar 16: A Muslim woman turned Good Samaritan for her Hindu neighbour. In a heart-warming incident which speaks volumes on humanity, Fathima from Madikeri has travelled all the way to Mangaluru to ensure her 35-year-old neighbour Raju’s life is saved with timely treatment.

Raju, a resident of Madikeri Siddapura Nelyahudhukeri has been paralyzed for the last 12 years. He suffers from kidney problems and his condition turned critical since the last couple of days. Raju is taken care by his mother Leelamma aged 65, who earns a living by growing vegetables.

The house they live in is on a verge of collapse and the family is suffering due to lack of finances. Moved by the plight of the mother and son, a Muslim woman named Fathima, who is Raju’s neighbour, took him to Madikeri hospital. But doctors suggested her to take him to a hospital in Mangaluru for further treatment.

Raju and his mother had no money to pay for ambulance to shift Raju to Mangaluru from Madikeri. So Fathima obtained a loan by pledging her daughter’s jewellery and succeeded in bringing Raju along with his elderly mother to Mangaluru for further treatment.

Fathima is taking all kinds of initiative to help her neighbour Raju recover. Raju's mother who has difficulty in walking was unable to attend her son. However, Fathima is taking care of them.

SKSSF Vikaya Dakshina district vice chairman Taajuddin Tarly appreciates Fathima’s selfless service towards her neighbour. “We visited Raju. He is in need of ICU facility but there is no ICU facility in the hospital to get dialysis done. The doctor has assured to move Raju to another hospital. People like Fathima, instill people’s faith in humanity,” he said.

We Indians living as brothers since our birth , but who is spewing venom. We citizens should unite and punish these in humans for dividing beautiful souls. We should realise and find out what's their aim and intentions. Do we have any benefit ? Or we just victims of hatred and jealous.
We Muslims too should follow our prophet and set the example of humanity to all living beings.

    Politics divided us badly ...
During my childhood days(1991) in kemmannu( grandma's house) we dint bother about religion or caste , I'm feeling so proud to spent my childhood with people's of all community with harmony....those days porbulus( nayakerr) - bayyammas and few saiber 's were well to do financially in kemmannu location and they used to treat people of all community same like own family members , the rich used to help everyone in need in financially..we all used to play cricket in fields together and had enjoyed childhood days .I even remember during Christmas ,our lovely neighbors used to share food ...
TO be Frank we had lost all our lands due to legal issues and we were poor, but we had great humans near us........I miss all those lovely , friendly smiles which I observed during those days ....
Love you all my dear bayammas, porbulu's, saiber's, God bless you all ....

Great "achievement" I should say. Its easier to say than done especially when Fathima herself is a poor woman. May Allah bless her here and hereafter.
Great to see the smile and sigh of relief on the face of Leelamma.

Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “He is not a believer who spends the night satiated while the neighbor to his side is hungry.”

Anas ibn Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “He does not have faith in me who spends the night satiated while he knows that the neighbor to his side is hungry.”

Abu Huraira (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Gabriel (Angel who brings revelation from Allah) kept advising me to be good to neighbors until I thought he would make them my heirs.”

Let us not label it on the basis of riligion or political orientation. It is pure humanity, or rather pure selfless love towards fellow human beings. We also find many fanatics and fundamentalists, who keep dividing people for their own selfish motives. Just ignore them and support the good people.

    Dear Sudesh,
As you said, it is generally not advised to bring politics in the issues like this.
But it is the need of the hour to highlight the communal agenda of the rulers to make the public aware of their intentions; and i dont think this is alike doing politics.

I don't know why politics has come here, all political parties are useless. Everyone knows Bajaranga dal is useless, but here the Muslim lady who has helped her neighbor has done it by keeping her own jewellery for pledge, PFI has not provided money to her here, if they couldn't help this Muslim lady before just like how bajaranga dal didn't help the Hindu lady, at least now PFI can help the Muslim lady by paying for her jewellery instead of funding money for stupid strikes and spoiling the image of Muslims just like how bajaranga dal spoils the image of Hindus. BJP is an opportunistic party no doubt, but it was Congress who gave this opportunistic party to do politics, if Nehru and Jinnah didn't have greed of power, India would have been a United nation where in reality we had many such Hindus and Muslims living as neighbors helping each other, neither lakhs of people would have losed thier life nor women would have been raped hence today this hate wouldn't be there between the two communities and BJP the opportunistic party of India wouldn't have any topic to gain power. So stop blaming each other and just appreciate these kind of humanitarian things without involving any politics.

These kind of humanitarian deeds between the communities were not new and also are not new. It is basic human trait to help those in need rising above religious difference. It is only because the likes of this Muslim lady the world is still a better place to live. It only deeds like these are exception these days. They should in fact be way of life. It's an answer to those who are filled with religious venom in their head.

Humanity still prevails in Karnataka. It's only those anti-social elements from neighbouring states & some MP's and MLA's create confusion within our society as for vote bank politics. They all should be thrown out from our DK, so that harmony, brotherhood and humanity prevails in the state.

    Abdul Razzak,

Allah guides us not to follow the personal inclinations when it is the matter of truth or justice. I am happy that you demonstrated the same by your Comments.

"O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Whether one is rich or poor, Allah is more worthy of both. So follow not [personal] inclination, lest you not be just. And if you distort [your testimony] or refuse [to give it], then indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted."
