Nirbhaya's convicts to be hanged on March 20 at 5.30 am, death warrant issued

New Delhi, March 5 (IANS): A Delhi court on Thursday again issued fresh death warrants against four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case and for the fourth time set a date for them to be hanged on March 20 at 5.30 a.m.

Additional Sessions Judge Dharmendra Rana said, "It is directed that convicts shall be hanged by the neck until they are dead by on March 20 at 5.30 a.m."

Earlier, the court gave the time of execution as 6 a.m., but later changed.

The four convicts namely Vinay, Akshay, Mukesh and Pawan were scheduled to be executed on March 3 at 6 a.m. and before that on January 22, and February 1.

The court had last time deferred the warrants till further orders on Pawan's mercy petition came. Pawan was the only convict whose legal remedies were pending till the last date of execution.

The first date of execution of the four convicts, January 22, was postponed to February 1. Then the trial court on January 31 stayed the execution till further orders as the convicts had not exhausted their legal remedies.

The court on February 17 directed that the four be hanged at 6 a.m. on March 3. It was the third date of execution of the death warrants.

The case pertains to the brutal gang rape and murder of a 23-year-old woman in the national capital on December 16, 2012. She died on December 29 at a hospital in Singapore following complications.

Six people, including the four convicts and a juvenile, were named as accused.

Ram Singh, the sixth accused, allegedly committed suicide in Tihar jail days after the trial began in the case. The juvenile was released in 2015 after spending three years in a correctional home.

Capital punishment can never be a solution to end heinous crimes.Although, it may give a sense of satisfaction for the victims family. We as a society ,have failed in building a morally strong society and this is the consequences of it.We all know recent police shoot out happened in Telangana was an orchestrated act of police.Yet, majority of us morally supported the act of police. We always enjoy out of court settlement. That's because it doesn't take much time. In fact, that's where a civilized society looses it's morality.A court or the law and order should do it's duty in deciding the punishment or rehabilitation etc depending on the nature of the crime.

Just fooling around and playing with the sentiments of the parents who are waiting for justice for her daughter. If one date is given then they should do it, not every time change the dates.
When the whole world knows who is the culprit, then why should they still keep them alive.

I hope March 20, 2020 is the final date for those four rapists/killers/convicts to be hanged to death at 5.30 am sharp. They have enjoyed all these years at the cost of tax payers money and time. Nirbhaya's parents and all her loved ones will be most happy and have some peace of mind.

Now the criminal lawyer will open up the robbery case against one of the convict which is pending in delhi highcourt. This will again postpone the death sentence until the pending cases are open.

Please watch the documentary if u get a chance. It's not about just rape but the whole mentality.. one of the criminal said " she deserved this and he has no regret.." if a girl can walk with a guy late night then what's her problem to come with us".. there is so much corrupt mentality in that statement.. why is a girl always blamed?
Her intestines were pulled out for what?? Because she was out walking in street with her friend?

Considering the way the lawyer of the convicts took the judiciary for a ride using all the loopholes of the law in this case, Hyderabad type encounter of the rapists is the best solution..

I am not sure if encounter is the legal way of taking action but when we see such delays by court then we tend to justify it to ourselves that encounter is possibly correct.
I would appreciate if our supreme Court would provide fair trail, then if found guilty within a month of time award the culprit under IPC ..
I pray to God even Soujanya rape culprit are award same with "gift"..
