Mangaluru, Feb 10: St Aloysius Pre-University College run by Mangalore Jesuit Educational Society lies in the heart of Mangaluru, in the coastal belt of Karnataka. Among the finest colleges in Mangaluru, with a history of 140 years, St Aloysius PU College aims to empower the youth through excellence in education to shape a better future for humankind. St Aloysius PUC is renowned for its commitment to holistic education. The College motto ‘Lucet et Ardet’ meaning ‘Shine to Enkindle’ motivates the staff to impart quality education through a proper process of personal accompaniment. The college strength is a little over 4,000 students and they are supported and cared for by the 200 qualified and experienced teachers and other support staff.
The academic year 2018-19 witnessed excellent results with a 98.12% pass percentage. All the three streams performed exceptionally well with a percentage of 97.48% in Science, 98.85 % in Commerce and 99% in Arts. Of the total 1916 students who appeared for the board exams, 1,880 passed, 417 secured distinctions and 1,113 passed in
first class.

Set in lush green environs, SAPUC provides the right ambiance and atmosphere for holistic education. The college environment harnesses the latest technologies and offers teaching spaces with well-equipped modern science and computer labs, language labs, playing fields, gymnasium, auditorium, AV rooms, AC classrooms, chapel, indoor sports complex, food courts and canteen. A well-stocked library is open on all working days; reference books, a range of fiction for all ages, periodicals and magazines are available.
The college provides a choice of various combinations in Arts, Commerce and Science Streams.
The College partners with Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), a leading institute which train students appearing for JEE/NEET entrance Exams. The college also has a tie up with various institutes of repute for NDA, NATA, CLAT, CA & CS Foundation coaching.
Students who come from economically poor backgrounds are provided with mid-day meals, fee concessions, scholarships, free text books and college uniforms. In keeping with the growing needs of society, the college has on board, five qualified counselors who meet with students through the day.
The college has always thrived on close and supportive relationship between its administration, students and their parents. The School management interacts on a daily basis with Parents and Students via sms and other social media platforms.

learn about parliamentary procedures and government functioning, thus becoming more aware and alert citizens. ‘Pre- Unique’ is our much-awaited inter college cultural and literary festival with competitions in dance, music, photography, creative writing, debating and filmmaking among others.
