Mangaluru: FMHMC’s mega health exhibition ‘Prerana’ inaugurated

Mangaluru, Jan 23: ‘Prerana 2020’, a mega health exhibition along with intercollegiate literary and creativity fest, organized by Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital (FMHMC), Deralakatte was inaugurated on Thursday, January 23 in the college auditorium.

Dr Shivaprasad K, principal, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests.

Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, director FMCI and president of the programme, congratulated administrator, staff and students for successfully organizing the programme. He also congratulated the six rank holders in the UG and eight rank holders in the PG examinations conducted by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

U T Khader, MLA, Mangaluru constituency, inaugurated the programme. In his message he appreciated the progress of Homoeopathic system of medicine and congratulated the students for selecting Homoeopathy as their professional course.

Khader also stressed about the importance of research in the field of medicine. He also expressed his appreciation that Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College is one of the best colleges not only in India but also in the world.

Guest of honour Sr Dr M Jeswina A C, principal, St Agnes College, Mangaluru, in her message to the students, stressed upon taking up the responsibility and values. This in turn will help in building the personality and thereby aid them in achieving success in their profession.

Sheena Shetty, district sanitation ambassador, Dakshina Kannada, recalled his association with the Institution way back in 1986, where they were involved in conducting various health camps and serving the society. This legacy is still being continued keeping in mind the motto of ‘Heal & Comfort’. He urged the students to adopt sanitation and hygienic measures to prevent the diseases and improve the health standards.

On this occasion, two Homoeopathic medical books, authored by Dr Rita Chakraborty and Dr Vilma D’Souza, were released by the chief guest.

Dr Mohammed Iqbal, district Ayush officer, Dakshina Kannada and Fr Roshan Crasta, administrator FMHMC&H were present on the dais.

Dr Deepa Pais, convener, Prerana 2020, rendered the vote of thanks.

Around 2,000 students from various schools, colleges, medical and technical institutions are participating in the mega health exhibition.
