Mangaluru, Jan 21: Manglauru has been listed as 43rd in the list of 100safest cities in the world. This ranking is likely to find the city in the favoured list of places to be visited by those undertaking tours and foreign investors.
The list has been prepared by CEO World magazine being published from New York, during the fag end of 2019. Mangaluru is the safest city among Indian cities. Cities like Vadodara in Gujarat, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, Ahmedabad in Gujarat and Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra have found a place in the 100 safest cities.

CEO World magazine has been conducting surveys and releasing the list since long. Abu Dhabi in UAE has consecutively been ranked as the safest city in the world since the last three years. Doha, Qatar is in second place whereas Quebec in Canada has been placed third on the list. Taipei in Taiwan, Munich in Germany, Dubai, UAE, Zurich and Bern in Switzerland, Eskisehir in Turkey and Hong Kong have made it to the list of top ten safest cities.
Caracas in Venezuela has been treated as the most dangerous city while Pietermaritzburg in South Africa and Port Moresby in New Guinea have been listed as second and third dangerous cities.
The list is prepared by allotting points under different parameters. Abu Dhabi secured 89.03 points and stood first as against Doha's 88.43 and 85.19 of Quebec City. Mangaluru got 74.39 points.
In the safest cities list prepared in 2018 by 'The Daily Meal' website of Chicago origin USA, Mangaluru had been ranked in the 31st spot. Points are mainly allotted on the basis of crime index.
