Davanagere, Jan 11: The Proclamation and Inauguration ceremony of Our Lady of Health Minor Basilica will be held on January 15, from 9 am onwards, at Harihar, informed Fr Veeresh Moras, PRO of
Shimoga diocese.

Addressing the gathering, Fr Veeresh explained what it means to be a Minor Basilica and the importance of this historical event of Proclamation and inauguration of the Minor Basilica. “This important event will be held on Wednesday, January 15 at 9 am. All arrangements are made for the programme.

“This historic event will be witnessed by B S Yediyurappa, chief minister of Karnataka, president of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India Fr Dr Filipe Neri Ferrao, Dr Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru of Chitradurga Murugha Math, Archbishop Dr Peter Machado and 13 other bishops, political leaders and large number of lay faithful from all over Karnataka and beyond,” he said.

Bishop of Shimoga Dr. Francis Serrao, and Fr Dr Anthony Peter, rector of the Minor Basilica, were also present.
