Udupi: Activists oppose planned Billawa-Muslim friendly get-together

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Mangaluru, Jan 6: Addressing a press conference here on Monday January 6, several Billawa activists expressed their opposition to the Billawa - Muslim friendly get-together planned to be organized on January 11. The leaders feel that this is a ploy to divide the innocent Billawa community that has been leading on the guidelines left behind by Narayana Guru.

The activists questioned the purpose of holding this programme other than for breaking Hindu society. They said that culturally the two communities are different, and Muslim community has inflicted murder, abduction of girls and selling them in Arab countries, stealing of cows from cattle sheds and selling them to slaughterhouses etc on Billawa community. They said that they have faced injustices from Muslim community and termed the proposed programme as farcical. They asked the community to stop spreading hatred through social websites and avoid anti-national activities. They also said that the proposed programme is politically motivated.

They demanded for the cancellation of the said programme before January 9 or dropping the name, 'Bllawa' from the programme, failing which they said that all the members of the community will gather in front of the office of the deputy commissioner and hold protest.

Billawa leaders like Kiran Kumar, Naveen Ameen Shankarapura, Achuth Ameen Kalmadi, Sunil K R, Ramachandra Sanil, Shivukumar Ambalpady, Shivaprasad Palan Bengre, Uday Poojary Matadabettu, Mehesh Poojary Kundapur, Harshavardhan Hoode, Anand, B P Ramesh Poojary, Vishukumar Kallianpur and others were present.

These people are Bajrang Dal/BJP activists who have worked hard to split the society on the basis on religion for vote bank purpose.

No wonder they are desperate to stop a noble initiative to bring about togetherness and Indianess in the society, because if that happens all the hardwork that they have put towards splitting the society will be washed away.

Learn to be Indians first, only bafoons like these can say that by holding friendly meeting between religious communities will our religion come under threat, Cultureless Cowards they are

Wish you all the best to this function, Its a beginning to keep aside our differences and come closer for the betterment of all the human beings, Who likes to live peacefully will attend the function and who doesn't like human being live together without harming each other will not attend function and will create issues on each and every action.

Grownup .... we all are human beings one day we need to die and we will not take anything from this earth. If you are Hindu, Muslim, Christian all need to die one day till then at least those who trying to mitigate misunderstandings between religion and caste support them or at least keep quite.

OUR NEIGHBORS ARE FROM BILLAWA COMMUNITY, AND WE LIVE IN HARMONY FROM YEARS, YES WE HAD SOME FIGHTS AS NEIGHBORS ALWAYS DO, BUT IT DEFINITELY NOT RELATED TO RELIGION, NOW FROM LAST 20 YEARS WE ARE LIVING HAPPILY, THEY ALWAYS GIVE US VEGETABLES WHICH THEY GROW AT HOME, WE TOO GIVE GIFTS ON OCCASIONS, WE SHARE SWEETS ON EID AND DIWALI. AS ALL WE MEN LIVE ABROAD, OUR ONLY WOMEN AT HOME FEEL SAFE WITH OUR NEIGHBOR'S PRESENCE. ACTUALLY THEY BOTH DON''T EVEN KNOW ABOUT THIS RALLY. THESE SO CALLED LEADERS ARE POLITICALLY DIVIDING US. I HOPE TO SEE SOME POSITIVE COMMENTS ON THIS NEWS FROM OUR HINDU BROTHERS. WE SHOULD ERADICATE HATE CREATED BY THESE POLITICAL KINGPINS.

Very happy to read Hanif. Please note negative people are there in the both the communities. This i have seen. Also i have seen if you talk anything bad about the minority community then you are Communal but if the same Politician supports the minority community then he is secular. If he supports majority community then he is Communal. This is one of the reason why Congress which was the stronghold in Unidivided Coastal Karnataka has been almost wiped out. This is not regards to blame game. If something happens bad who ever it is we must stongly oppose it. Here Politicians are afraid to oppose it fearing that they will lose elections. This is one of the major reasons for Ramanath rai and Abhyachandra jain losing elections. Please we are not united. This is a fact. Moreover the Billava community in undivided Coastal Karnataka has virtually and closing there eyes are voting for BJP from the past 25 years.

When some one is doing a constructive job, there is always objection. One fraction of the society is slowly making it clear to the public who is REAL Desha drohi and REAL Desh Bhakt. Let these people sit for a while and think weather they this act shows Desh prem.
