Bengaluru: Pratap Simha's attempt to make light of Yediyurappa's efforts gets brickbats

Bengaluru, Dec 13: The tweet made by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha, which seemed to indicate that chief minister, B S Yediyurappa, had no role in the party's resounding victory in the by election, has got sharp retort from the twitter community.

Some have taken exception to the MP's habit of mentioning the names of Modi and Amit Shah for anything and everything. "The MP seat you got is alms given by Yediyurappa. Yediyurappa did not undertake agitations in which children of others were put behind the bars, like you. You have to learn to respect the local leadership. If you think that central leadership was behind this success, why did the BJP taste defeat in Hunsur constituency, which falls within your jurisdiction?" some wanted to know.

In response to a tweet by a person, Pratap had said that no one is trying to take away credit for this victory from Yediyurappa. But before that, under the leadership of Modi and Shah, 25 Lok Sabha seats had been annexed by the BJP. Till then, no MLAs of any party had shown the courage to resign. We should remember that 17 legislators who resigned had their own sway in their constituencies," he had said. The people analysed this response as an effort made by Pratap to say that Yediyurappa had no role in the success of the party in the bypoll.

A supporter of Yediyurappa, in a tweet, went on to say that some people who cannot match even a particle of dust stuck to Yediyurappa's feet, are now talking about electoral victory. "In the Lok Sabha election, he registered victory because of Yediyurappa. He should remember that. Yediyurappa is not a person, he is a powerhouse of the BJP," he added.
