Mangaluru: Government releases funds for Tulu Bhavan, Beary Academy

Mangaluru, Dec 12: A well-equipped Rangamandira (theatre) has been the crying need of Dakshina Kannada district since the last several years. In the past, different sites were identified and foundation stones were laid but the project used to stay at that level. After fresh pressure was mounted, the state government has sanctioned Rs 7 crore for the extended part of works for the Rangamandira building being constructed by Kannada and culture department. Out of this, Rs five crore has been released for the project.

The government has also released the balance amount of Rs 3.60 crore required to complete the remaining works of Tulu Bhavana of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy.

For the construction of new Beary Sahitya Academy building, Rs 6 crore has been sanctioned. Out of this amount, Rs 3 crore has been released.

Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy president Dayanand Kattalsar, and Beary Academy president Rahul Uchil, have thanked chief minister B S Yediyurappa, Kannada and culture minister C T Ravi, district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, and MLA Vedavyasa Kamath, for their role in sanctioning funds to the academies.

    Whether any vacant land is available. Hows the Govt. allotted money without ascertaing the facts. If the land is not there for construction of Bhavans then the allotment will lapse.

    Is there a "Sanction of Funds " for a Christian Bhavan or Christian Academy also? I do not see that??

    The fund is for the promotion of language and culture, not religion. Rs.5 Crore had already been sanctioned for Konkani Bhavan.

    there is no enough comments/appreciations for good works. in this case also govt released fund for tulu bhavan & beary academy without any double standard. our so called seculars not appreciate this kind of act. anyway it is demonstrated in by election that there is no place for appeasement politics. sab ka saath sab ka vikas. we like this & support instead of jayanthi.

    Hope you are happy now, You were angry because fund provided to Konkani bhavan instead of Tulu as tulunad owned by people like you. Contributions to DK made by both GSB and tulu people. Don't try to spoil the society with your negativeness
