Daijiworld Media Network - Hubballi (SP)

Hubballi, Dec 6: The mutilated body of a young lady was found lying on the railway tracks at Hubballi on Wednesday December 4. The victim has since been identified as Sr Mary Sendra Vianney who was serving the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Convent.

The severed body of Sr Mary Sendra was found at around 3.30 am on Wednesday. She was the second of the four children of Gurushanthappa and Kosumaria of Gadag origin. Sr Mary Sendra had joined the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany on May 22, 2012. After initial training at Bethany Novitiate at Mysuru, she was assigned to the western province.

She served at Fatima Convent Madanabhavi, Bethany Convent at Kalaburagi, and Bethany Convent Camp Belagavi and was pursuing teachers training at St Joseph's College, Belagavi.

It could not be ascertained whether it was a case of suicide or murder. No clear reasons could found which would have forced her to take this extreme step or to earn the wrath of somebody.

We have no right to judge. Investigations by the Police will reveal and the post mortem will reveal whether it was an accident, murder or suicide. May the soul of the deceased nun rest in peace.

The Catholic Church, is definitely in a state of a crisis... Murders, rapes, financial scams, have totaly destroyed the credibility of the church, in our nation !! The clergy n the elders in the community, have sunk their heads in the sand, like an ostrich, in the desert... hoping that the catastrophic storm, of evil, will pass away !!!!!!!!!

Rape is condemnable and needs the stringent punishment. The manner in which the Doc was raped and her body burnt has shaken the conscience of the people. When the public put unnecessary pressure in such sensitive case on the police then "Natural Justice" becomes a victim. The Govt., had set up a fast track court, it is was required to be established that the four were the rapists; they should have been give a fair trial and it would be foregone conclusion that death penalty would be there reward. Unfortunately the questions that remain unanswered are: Are they are the culprits? Could the police not overpower them? Was the encounter a necessity? All this will remain a mystery to be unveiled by the Courts of law. Maneka's views are right. Her views need to be respected. Everyone should respect women and look upon them with dignity, only then will such atrocities against women stop.

Very sad, it will be declared as a sucide case without proper investigation and the case will be closed. These nuns are serving the society without any reward . May her Soul rest in peace and God give strength to the Family to bear the loss.
