Mangaluru-Bengaluru - Additional IndiGo flight introduced

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Dec 4: Another flight has been introduced on the segment between the city and Bengaluru. IndiGo has introduced this flight. With this, the number of flights operating on this route has gone up to ten.

IndiGo has already been operating four flights on this route on a daily basis. Encouraged by the consumer response, it has introduced one more flight. This flight was being run on a different timing in the past, and had later been cancelled. This flight arrives from Bengaluru at 11.30 am and flies back at 1 pm.

SpiceJet has been operating five flights with a seating capacity of 180 every day on this route, and they are almost full. The city is currently connected to destinations like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Doha Qatar, Sharjah, Bahrain, Kuwait and Muscat through airline operators like IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Air India.

Regional manager of IndiGo Airlines here, Archana, said that the new flight was added from November 30 in the light of demand from commuters. She said that with the current additional flight, IndiGo has been operating five flights to Bengaluru, and its New Delhi flight too has become popular among the passengers.

In the meanwhile, former president of Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sudhakar Shetty, has approached Mysuru MP, Pratap Simha, and officials of Mysuru airport and IndiGo airlines with a memorandum requesting them to begin flights between the city and Mysuru to give impetus to tourism and trade potential of coastal Karnataka.

There is no direct flight to Saudi ( Jeddah & Riyadh) from Mangalore! Surely all Mangaloreans have to take flights via Mumbai, which is not only expensive affair and also waste of time. There is huge potential in this sector.

In case of Delhi flight it’s advisable to give a stopover at Pune or Ahmedabad. Otherwise the flight may face the risk of closure as it happened in case of Air India and Spicejet.
