Udupi, Dec 2: The court has pronounced its verdict relating to the suicide case of Prithvi Poojary Ampar, a national level athlete who had committed on September 27 in 2011. 

Judge C M Joshi delivering the verdict said that the prosecution failed to prove the charges. 24 witnesses had testified in the trial. 

Misbah Hussain (30) is the person who has been acquitted. 

Prithvi hailed from Ampar in Kundapur taluk and was studying in II PUC commerce in Udupi. Misbah Hussain was arrested subsequently.

Misbah had failed in the degree examination and used to work as broker for cars and motor bikes. Prithvi got to know him as he used to visit the ground to play cricket when she practiced there. While she had kept a distance from him, he continued efforts to contact her, it was alleged. 

Prithvi's diary revealed that she was mentally harassed by many people. 

Ravikiran Murdeshwar was the advocate of Misbah. 

Prithvi had made her mark in state-level junior sports meet held in Bengaluru winning gold in heptathlon and silver in javelin throw, south zone sports meet held in Hyderabad where she won silver in heptathlon and bronze in javelin throw, and national sports meet held in Bhopal where had she bagged the bronze in heptathlon. 

Just few days before her death, Prithvi had returned to Brahmavar after winning silver in javelin throw in the divisional-level Dasara sports meet held in Mandya.
