Exactly. Our police beat and extract confessions, but won't gather evidence required, what can judge do, other than acquit?

True sanjaya.., agree with you..., even though I studied law...,howsoever you record confessions..., if the investigating agencies fail to produce evidence.., means then case pusaka....!!!!

Now a days.., the high & mighty from political class & background..., the evidences are erased or purged to ensure that it don't prevail during investigation or judicial proceedings...,

I could even re-call some of high profile cases like 1984, 2002 & Justice Loda case etc., to name a few....!!!

after all... LORD BRAHMA knows the truth....!!!!

now a days apart from RTO/traffic police, other police personnel also engaged in checking the two wheeler's helmet & interested in put fine. then who will do all these investigation thoroughly. In this kind of incident police dept should register FIR properly with all available sections & gather evidence.
