Bengaluru, Nov 13: In the presence of JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda, party's legislative council members including senior leader Basavaraj Horatti, gave vent to a sense of frustration they have been going through in the party. In the meeting held at the residence of Deve Gowda at Padmanabha Nagar on Tuesday, Horatti and others said they are being neglected in the party.

"Even when Kumaraswamy was the chief minister, he did not behave respectfully with us. Even after the government fell apart, advice and suggestions of the members of legislative council are not being respected. We are not being consulted even in party's organizational matters. What is our relevance in the party?" they wanted to know.

Deve Gowda said that henceforth, everyone would be taken into confidence in all party matters, and they will also be involved with party organizational matters. He also asked the MLCs to shoulder certain responsibilities.

It is said that Kumaraswamy lent an ear to all the grievances patiently and said that he could not deal with the MLCs as before because of the pressures which came with the post of the chief minister. "There is no question of neglecting anyone. I have taken several decisions after seeking advice and suggestion from senior leader Horatti. I will take everyone into confidence," he promised.

The meeting decided to field advocate Dr A P Ranganath, from Bengaluru teachers’ constituency this time. Both Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy approved Ranganath as candidate for the said constituency, which is currently represented by Puttanna, who has been expelled from the JD(S).
