Mangaluru, Nov 5: Not all heroes wear capes. Some are in uniforms. Mangaluru city police commissioner Dr P S Harsha is all set to recognize the ‘Heroes donning uniforms’ using social media.

The commissioner has thrown the question open to the public, asking them suggestions on how he can showcase the good work by Kudla police.

“Should the good work by Kudla police be shown in You Tube series, a blog or a citizen contributed tweet series,” the commissioner has messaged in a public WhatsApp group.

The commissioner has already set-up a wall of fame in his office, where a TV highlights the achievements of the staff.

However, the idea of starting a social media series hit the commissioner after public have been tagging him on twitter, highlighting the good work of honest and earnest police officials.

One of the latest video the commissioner tweeted shows ASI Krishnakumar of East Traffic Police Station, pushing a red car, which had broken down on National Highway 66.

The video was shot by a person who happened to witness the incident and later shared on social media tagging the commissioner.

Dr Harsha was quick to make note of the effort put in by the ASI and shared the same on his twitter handle.

While the video has already got over 400 likes, many have lauded the ASI for lending a helping hand.

The commissioner, who is quite active on social media, is known to focus on areas that enhance public-police relationship.

Dr Harsha is One of the best Commissioner, Mangalore had so far. In such a short time he has shown great initiative to help people and boost the morale of the police.

Police force is our own. Once in a while bad incidents do happen and we can always reach KPS/IPS cadre officers to complain against them.

There are many good police men and women. They wear uniform to protect us. Let the public, local businesses, schools, colleges join hand with Dr Harsha and recognise good Police, give them awards, gifts or atleast offer them a bottle of cold water when you see them sweating in hot sun.

If you see men in Uniform in Ideals or Restaurant, offer to pay their bill.(Not everyone can not afford, atleast few who can). If we show our love towards them, they will definetely reciprocate.

Let us make Mangalore most police friendly city and let us make our Police deaprtment most people friendly department.

We wish Dr Harsha and his team the best.
