Kalki Bhagwan's unaccounted wealth touches whopping Rs 800 crore

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Oct 22: The Income Tax department which raided the premises of self-proclaimed godman ‘Kalki Bhagwan’ has estimated his unaccounted wealth to be more than Rs 800 crore.

The initial estimate was Rs 409 crore. But after the raid at the group’s premises late Sunday night, the estimate is being revised. While Rs 409 crore was from unaccounted cash receipts, tax officials have found account credits of Rs 115 crore in HDFC Bank.

The bogus share capital is worth Rs 61 crore and foreign investments in Africa, Dubai and British Virgin Islands through hawala transactions cross Rs 100 crore.

The godman who calls himself to be the 10th avatar of Lord Vishnu has benami properties of 4000 acres.

The raid conducted by over 300 IT department sleuths lasted for 4 days and ended at 11 pm on Sunday. It was conducted simultaneously across Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Varadaiahpalem near Chittoor along the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border where the ashram’s headquarters is located.

A huge stash of cash was seized from the premises. However, the godman’s son NKV Krishna and daughter-in-law are reportedly not cooperating with the IT sleuths. They are refusing to answer questions as well as sign statements.

The 70-year-old godman had started an institution called ‘Jeevashram’ school in the mid-80s. He promoted an alternative form of education for his disciples and opened the 'Oneness University' at his Chittoor campus. The group runs residential training programmes in philosophy and spirituality, which are held through ‘wellness courses’.

The IT department received a tip-off that cash donations to the Trust are not accounted and used to fund other businesses. During the raid, 90 kg gold and other valuables were also seized.

With that much money in the excess of US$ 100 million, he is no more Godman, he is a God himself. OMG.
By the way, money received from the devotees is not taxable. But income from money invested from non-taxable amount is taxable.
What a shame. On one hand, we do not have resources to provide basic needs (clean water, good roads and waste management), here we have people with Godly business storing money away in safe havens for their next avatar.

Religion is the opium of the people.

So long as the people are stoned with this opium, a few smart ones will collect hundreds of crores.

And if they give 10% of it as donations to political parties, they will be safe from most raids.

It is an endless cycle: Opium --> religion --> politics --> opium.

Originally known as Vijay Kumar, Kalki declared himself a godman after starting his career as a clerk in the government-owned Life Insurance Corporation of India. A 70-year-old controversial godman also faces charges of encroaching government land in Bengaluru.

Officials have also unearthed evidence of Kalki’s undisclosed investments in tax havens like the British Virgin Islands, Dubai, and Africa. According to reports, there is also evidence of nearly 4,000 acres of land and Benami properties.

The IT officials have also gathered the evidence for unaccounted cash receipts for Rs 409 crore. The documents seized from the raids also include undisclosed HDFC bank account credits to the tune of Rs 115 crore and unreconciled bogus share capital for Rs 61 crore.

After PM Modi's pet project of 'Demonetisation,' Dan Jan Yojana adding more Babas in Forbes Billionaires list along with Ambani's and Adani's.

While Kalki Bhagwan is making headlines, former Union minister Chinmayanand who has been booked under IPC Section 376C, a charge short of rape, the woman and three others face a separate case of trying to blackmail him enjoying a homestay with the luxury.

Akhad Parishad who is also litigant in Babri Masjid case is in defense of rapist baba enjoying the top the class services from Yogi's BJP government on Home Minister and PM 's advice due to his strong connection and being served as junior Home Minister in Atal Bihari government.

Why the CBI, ED, IT silent on BJP's loving Baba Chinmyanada rapist?
How can Chinmyanda manage so many colleges in his name being baba?

SMR ,your comments are clear indication of your inclination to blame Modi for everything.Modi has attacked more self proclaimed Babas in 6 years than 70 yrs of congress who had no courage to touch them as they wanted the followers vote bank and also getting funds. Please note this Chinmayananda is not same as Chinmaya mission which is running lot of colleges .Please understand all mangoes are not Alphonso.
You said all babas became rich after demonitisation.Rather they are exposed to reveal the wealth and account it.That is why IT is raiding them.Pleade be objective in your comments rather than one sided

That is why BJP has so many holy godmen and holy god women. Their deeds and life style speaks louder and hurtful to victims than their preaching. They are IT, ED, CBI raid proof and BJP is partner-in-Crime.
