Bengaluru, Oct 21: The name board bearing the name of Siddaramaiah that was displayed in front of 'Cauvery', the residence in which opposition leader Siddaramaiah is residing, was removed by the government officials on Sunday, October 20.

Personnel and officers of administrative reforms department went to the Cauvery residence of Siddaramaiah and instructed to vacate the house as soon as possible. In addition, they removed the name board that was displayed on the compound wall of the residence.

The Cauvery residence is already allotted to the current chief minister of the state B S Yediyurappa. Race View Cottage 2 on Race Course Road is allotted to Siddaramaiah. However, Siddaramaiah had appealed to B S Yediyurappa to give him the same Cauvery residence. But it seems Yediyurappa has not responded to his appeal.

Opposition leader Siddaramaiah was visibly upset on the removal of his name board from his official residence Cauvery. Expressing his unhappiness at a function in Mysuru, Siddaramaiah said, "What was the need to remove the name board from my residence? I would have vacated the house, if I was asked to."
