Mangaluru: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel inaugurates 'Gandhi 150 Padayatra'

Mangaluru Oct 20: Member of Parliament and state BJP president, Nalin Kumar Kateel, inaugurated 'Gandhi 150 Padayatra' as a part of Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary celebration at Town Hall here on Sunday, October 20. 

Nalin Kumar Kateel inaugurated the Padayatra by garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. 

Subsequently the Padayatra was taken from Town Hall to Mangala Stadium.  

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had suggested undertaking Padayatra in every constituency from October 2, birthday of Gandhi till January 30, the day of his assassination. From October 21, Padayatra of 150 kilometers will be undertaken in every constituency of the district under the leadership of MP Nalin Kumar Kateel. These Yathras should be completed before January 30. The objective behind the Padayatra is to convey the message about Mahatma Gandhi. 

Speaking on the occasion MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, "Today Gandhi 150 Padayatra has been inaugurated. We will spread the message on the ideologies and thinking of Mahatma Gandhi during the proposed Padayatra.“ 

Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Mangaluru North MLA Dr Bharath Y Shetty, Puttur MLA Sanjeev Matandoor and Sullia MLA Angara were present.

    Roads are not worth walking....if you use footpath and road side...its a disturbance to pedestrians , cyclists and two wheelers! If you really want to walk do it between Kuloor and Surathkal .....that will be a first hand experience to our MPs only fly and hardly use roads! Let him talk to Ghatkari if feels roads are not worthy! I guess its high time dissolve NHI and hand it over to Indian Army.....life of a common man will be lot better! This Padayathra is waste of time!

    This is the limit of POLITICS ! They didnt killed the MAHATHMA but they killed his ideology and OUR HOWDY ordered for the PADAYATRA to defame again his ideology as RSS and MAHATHAMA are entirely different ideologies which illiterate people cant understand it.

    This nalini drop out from school who doesnt know how many districts are there in our state. May be he will be thinking INDIRA GANDHI also a freedom fighter !!
