Mumbai: BSKB Association celebrates anniversary of Ashraya

Mumbai, Oct 18: The anniversary of senior citizens’ home ‘Ashraya’ established by BSKB Association, Gokula Sion in memory of its platinum jubilee was held on Sunday October 13.

At the programme presided over by BSKB Association president, Dr Suresh S Rao Kateel, chief guest, Dalton Capital Advisors India Private Limited director, U R Bhat, V Club founder, Kaval Rekhi and Saroja Rekhi and senior citizens of Ashraya lit the lamp and set the programme in motion.

The ‘Ashraya Star’ award founded by Jagadish Acharya in memory of his mother, late Rathna Acharya was presented for the year 2019 to Annapoorna Rao and Nagaraj Rao.



Senior citizens between the age of 60 and 95 took part in the programme dance and entertaining the audience. Youth wing held annual Dandiya programme in which both elders and young took part. Joint secretary Chitra Melmane compered the cultural programme.

Ashraya resident, Dharmambal sang a prayer song. Vice-president, Vaman Holla welcomed the gathering and gave an introductory address. Dr Suresh Rao presented shawl, memento and flower bouquets to the guests and honored them. Honorary secretary, A P K Pothi showed a documentary of the facilities and activities in Ashraya.
Chandravati Rao rendered the vote of thanks.
