Dubai, Oct 11: On encountering a technical snag, a flydubai flight from Baku to Dubai had to make an emergency landing at Shiraz Shahid Dastgheib International Airport (SYZ). The incident took place in the southern region of Iran on Thursday, October 10.

"Flydubai flight FZ710 from Baku to Dubai was diverted to Shiraz due to a technical issue. All passengers were provided with refreshments at Shiraz Airport and continued their journey to Dubai at 19:45 (local time) on the same day in another flydubai aircraft," the airline spokesperson said.

The airline has deeply regretted the inconvenience caused to its passengers and claimed the diversion to be standard procedure during an emergency. The airline has stated that the safety of their passengers will always be their priority.

The stranded passengers were picked from the SYZ airport after a second flydubai flight was dispatched. The FZ710 also left the Iranian airport on the same day after the reported problem was fixed.
