Election announcement - Disqualified MLAs not disheartened

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Sep 22: Disqualified MLA representing K R Pura constituency here, Byrathi Basavaraj, has exuded the confidence that he and his fellow legislators who were disqualified by assembly speaker under laws relating to defection, are not disheartened by the decision of the election commission to hold by-polls in their respective constituencies.

The petition filed by them in the Supreme Court, questioning the decision of the speaker to disqualify them, will come up before the bench for hearing on Monday September 23. He said that all the disqualified legislators hope that they will get justice from the court. Byrathi and some other legislators are in New Delhi now, it is said.

Byrathi reiterated his earlier statement that he has other activities to indulge in, and hence will have no hesitation to stay away from politics if they fail to get favourable decision from the court.

Basavaraj said that discussions are being held with legal experts and advocates in preparation for the case which comes up for hearing on Monday. He said that he is aware that the chief minister held meeting with other MLAs at Bengaluru in the light of election announced to their constituencies but he does not know about the outcome of discussions.

Byrathi said their hopes now rest on the court decision and that further decision would be taken only thereafter. He said he has not yet thought on the prospects of fielding a family member if the court bars him from contesting by-poll.

all the 17 should eat the muck. they should know what BJP stands for. Biggest back stabbers. Even the public should not elect them again.
This should teach a good lesson to all the mlas and mps in future not to indulge in jumping jack politics for the sake of some crores.

You need not get disheartened.....you will get a heart attack. Since the election commission announced date for by election means you guys do not stand a chance to get re elected for sure. The money you received from BJP is sufficient for your life without being elected again.
