Mangaluru: Onam celebrations at Srinivas Institute of Technology

Mangaluru, Sep 16: Onam, also known as the 'Festival of Rain Flowers' was celebrated at Srinivas Institute of Technology on Saturday September 4 at its Valachil campus.

Inaugurating the formal function by Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, the principal of the institution, lauded the students for their keen interest and enthusiasm in celebrating the event.

He also congratulated the organizing committee for their pain and effort put in making the programme a success.



Dr Anant Kumar Kulkarni, the co-ordinator was present at the function. A rangoli competition, 'pookalam' was organized to commemorate the occasion. On this occasion, various events such as 'Thiruvathira', 'ChendaMelam', “musical chair”were organized. Several teams from the various departments participated in these events.
