Bengaluru, Sep 11: A huge protest has been called for by Vokkaliga leaders today in the city, accusing the government of arresting former minister and MLA, D K Shivakumar, to settle political scores. The police have said that in case of any incident of vandalism or other unwarranted happenings during the procession, criminal cases would be registered by holding the organizers responsible for them.

City police commissioner, Bhaskar Rao, addressing a press conference, said that there is a possibility of people from the community coming together to hold protest on a large scale. He asked the organizers to ensure that no untoward incident happens. "If something happens, we will register case by including names of T Narayana Gowda of Kannada Rakshana Vedike, Basavaraju Padakoti, Bharathi Shankar, Radha Venkatesh, Kumar, Ravishankar of Vishwa Vokkaliga Maha Vedike, J Nagaraj of Nadaprabhu Vokkaliga Kendra, Anil Gowda of state Vokkaliga Kempegowda Yuva Vedike, Jagaidsh Gowda and K Krishnamurthy, at the beginning of the first information report," he clarified.

He asked the concerned to hold protest and procession in a way it does not create problems for the general public. "We have held discussions about the route of the procession and precautions to be taken. We request the citizens not to use the roads through which the procession move from 11.30 am to 3.30 pm," Bhaskar Rao said.

He informed that traffic has been diverted by making certain changes for the convenience of the processions. Noting that the organizers would be using services of a thousand volunteers to regulate the procession, he asked those participating in the procession not to create problems for office goers and those conducting businesses. He also clarified that his department is not aware if any political party is supporting the protest, duly noting that individually, anyone can support it. He added that the main concern of the police is to see that law and order situation does not suffer on account of the protest.

If any untoward incident happened in city...please throw them in prison immediately without any bail. There are some people in society who favour evil things the most. Reason behind it it there profit hidden. Did you not noticed even supporters are for Yakub Memon (follower of dharam guru Prince Aga Khan), Afzal Guru, Burhan wani or Azam Khan. Such type of people threat to the society.
Before conducting any protests in city limit..before giving permission take surety from organizers. We already seen how protestors damaged nation's property in favour of rohingys even they not left destroying amar jyothi smarak. It's all happened during congress rule.
Such things we wont entertain in near future.
