Terminally ill children turn police commissioners for a day in Bengaluru

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (EP)

Bengaluru, Sep 10: Police commissioner of Bengaluru, Bhasker Rao in a rare and heart touching gesture, temporarily bestowed the post of police commissioners on five terminally ill children from Bengaluru.

The initiative was taken by the 'Make a Wish' foundation. The step was taken to encourage the children to fight a battle against their illness.

The commissioner with the gesture towards the children, who always wanted to be the police commissioners, filled them with new spirit and enthusiasm. Police uniforms were given to four boys and one girl along with a guard of honour which is given to every police commissioner.

The children dressed up in police uniforms, sat on the commissioner's chair and signed mock documents. The five children also met the dog squad and were allowed to pet them. The children were also given mock weapons and handcuffs.
