Udupi: Kallianpur Milagres English Medium School organises book fair for students, parents

Udupi, Aug 31: As part of Ruby Jubilee Celebrations Library Clubs of Milagres English Medium organised ‘Milagrean Book Fair 2019’ for the first time near here on Saturday, August 31 on a grand scale. Several Book Publishers from Mangaluru, Bengaluru and Udupi – Pauline Publications, Asia Publications, Knowledge Publications and Bookmark Publications supported the event.

The event began with the prayer song led by students. Ifa from VII std welcomed the gathering. Jason Dias, old student and well known young businessman and president of Bodybuilders Association Udupi, was the chief guest. Inauguration was held with the cutting of the ribbon. The chief guest was also felicitated by all the dignitaries.

Fr Dr Lawrence C D’Souza, correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions presided over the programme. Rotn Vijay Mayadi and Prathvi (Knowledge Publications) were the guests of honour. Jenifer Rodrigues member of the managing committee, Michael Mendonsa and Rekha Shetty, PTA president and vice president were present.

The purpose of the book fair was instil love for books and taste for reading in students. About 1500 students and parents along with neighbouring schools benefitted from the fair. Library co-ordinators Sheela, Chandrika and Veronica co-ordinated the event all with library club members. Disha proposed the vote of thanks and Shina Rodrigues compered the event. Rajesh of Adarsh Publications contributed a lot to the success of the event.
