Mangaluru: Matsyotsava event held at Pilikula Nisarga Dhama

Mangaluru, Jul 21: Vice-president of Zilla Panchayat Kasturi Panja inaugurated ‘Matsyothsava’, organised by the fisheries department and Dr Shivarama Karantha Nisarga Dhama by releasing baby fishes into the Pilikula Lake on Sunday, July 21. 

Speaking on the occasion, Kasturi Panja said, “During this Matsyotsava, we have released baby fishes into the lake. They will be harvested and sold once in a year during this event. Consuming fish is very nutritious and good for health. Today people and tourists can come to Pilikula and enjoy this event. They can see variety of fish and take home also as it is sold at an affordable price.” 

A booklet titled 'Javabdariyutha Minugarike' was released during the occassion. 

Gram panchayat member Hariprasad Shetty, Jayaprakash Bhandary, Dr Mrudula, Meghana R and others were present among others.
