Bengaluru, Jul 17: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) which conducted investigation into the death of a 21-year-old girl student from Raichur that had attracted the attention of the country, has concluded that it was a case of suicide. The CID officials who completed their investigation, filed charge sheet in the case in a court at Raichur on Tuesday, July 16.

The CID report, recorded in over a thousand pages, examination of 65 witnesses and 45 documentary evidences, was submitted to the court by CID superintendent of police S D Sharanappa. In the report, friend of the victim, Sudarshan Yadav, who is in custody, has been accused of abetting the suicide.

The girl student, who had left home on April 13 for college, had not come back. Her parents had filed missing complaint in the police station the same day. The body of the girl was found hanging from a tree near Manik Prabhu temple in the town on the evening of April 15. The police, who took up the investigation, had concluded it as a case of suicide, on the basis of a suicide note recovered from the spot.

After various organizations and celebrities including student organizations raised a hue and cry, branding it as a cold-blooded murder, the government had entrusted the case to CID. On the basis of post mortem report and also tests conducted on viscera samples from the body conducted by forensic science laboratory, the local police had concluded it to be a case of suicide. The CID police had sent samples of soil from the spot, death note written by the student and her PU answer sheet to forensic science laboratory in the city for testing. All these reports have been received, and the police have again arrived at the conclusion that it was a case of suicide, not murder.

The police have found that Sudarshan Yadav used to harass the girl in the name of love. CID officials said that they have therefore included his name in the charge sheet for abetment to suicide.

    Not necessarily.
There are people who have got both and still they are down to earth.
Good in their deeds, frame of mind, attitude, helping nature and not proud.
