Mangaluru, Jul 17: Addressing a press meet at Suratkal on Tuesday July 16, city (north) BJP Mandal general secretary Ashok Krishnapura, severely criticized district youth Congress president Mithun Rai, for making derogatory statement about MP Nalin Kumar Kateel. He said that Mithun had used objectionable words against Nalin, thus exposing his childish mind set, and demanded unconditional apology from Mithun.
In the meanwhile, Mithun's statement against the MP's failure to solve Suratkal NITK tollgate problem has become viral in social media. Mithun had said that instead of holding protest against the tollgate, the MP should be thrashed with footwear as he had failed to solve the problem.

Speaking on the issue, BJP leader Ishwar Kateel, said that Congress government and Oscar Fernandes were instrumental in setting up this tollgate. He recalled that the BJP had opposed the idea of installing tollgate at Panambur after which the Congress took interest in installing the same at Suratkal. He said that the BJP had participated in protests against the tollgate.
Several BJP leaders including zilla panchayat vice president Kasturi Panja, Ganesh Hosabettu and others were present.
