Udupi, Jul 15: “Young minds of today, which have to get blossomed into a beautiful future, are getting corrupted, due to lack of guidance that is attracting them towards unlawful activities like drug and sex menace, terrorism, treachery and anti-social activities. This is a great tragedy. These minds have to be converted into positivity and have to be instilled with humanity, equality, world brotherhood and thoughts of a moral society. Rotaract is very active in developing the qualities of leadership through these positive thoughts in the young generation,” said Rayan Fernandes, social worker and president of Subhashnagar Rotaract.

Rayan was speaking as the chief guest at the Rotary programme that was organized at the residence of Kodugudde Ronald D’Souza. He further said, “When the awareness of ideals of Rotaract is created among the youth, along with the internal intelligence, qualities like able leadership, broad mindedness, positive thoughts about others in the society and service values get boosted. This helps the youth to build a model social life along with personal life.”

Rayan gave a call to every Rotary organization to start at least one Rotaract organization and help in building the society.
The programme was presided over by Rotary president Sunil Kabral, who welcomed the gathering. Melwin D’Souza did the introduction. Ronald D’Souza and Jacintha D’Souza, the couple who have completed 30 years of marital life were felicitated on the occasion. Raghupati Aithal was also felicitated during the programme. Reshma D’Souza and Rishal Machado extended cooperation. Rotary secretary Vishnumurthy Saralaya rendered the vote of thanks.
