Bantwal, Jun 22: Many love jackfruit for its sweet taste. The fruit is highly nutritious, containing Vitamin A and C. However, now it will add glow to one’s skin, thanks to the research and efforts of Aparna Harish.
Aparna hails from Vittal and is currently working in Chennai. A casual announcer in All India Radio, Aparna is passionate about making cosmetics and soaps. While she has created soaps using different ingredients, the idea of making jackfruit soap was born after she met Shree Padre, editor of Adike Patrike.
She researched about the fruit for one year and made a soap using jackfruit pulp, calamine powder, coconut and castor oil. She is selling the soap under the brand name ‘Zue’. She claims that the soap contains Vitamin A and C and will keep the skin healthy.
The soap has become popular among her friends. She is now contemplating of making a jackfruit based shampoo and talcum powder and has started research on the same.
