Kasargod: Three held for attempt on Bajrang Dal leader's life

Kasargod, Jun 19: Relating to an incident in which Prasad (28), convener of Bajrang Dal and resident of Bayar Kojape near Uppal was stabbed in an attempt to take away his life, the police from Manjeshwar station have arrested three persons.

The arrested accused happen to be Ibrahim Khaleel (23) from Karopady, Abubakker Siddique (20), resident of Bayarupadavu, and Abdul Nawaf (21) from Karopady Mittanadka.

The arrested accused were remanded to judicial custody by the court for two weeks.

Prasad was sitting in a shop in Kojape village on June 7 night when a gang of six people who arrived there in two motorbikes, attacked him with an iron rod and injured him with a sword. A case of murder attempt was lodged against six persons in Manjeshwar police station relating to this incident.

Abubakker Siddique (27) from Bayaru Dalikukku was arrested in the past. The police said that two more arrests are yet to be made in this case and that they are hopeful of nabbing them soon.
