Bengaluru: B C Patil indicates of leaving party over missing ministerial berth

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (EP)

Bengaluru, Jun 8: As the Karnataka cabinet expansion day is being finalised, dissatisfaction among Congress MLAs has reached its peak. It is said that giving ministerial berth to Ramalinga Reddy and two independent MLAs is certain. This news has led to discontent among MLAs aspiring for a place in the cabinet.

MLA B C Patil, who was vying to be a minister has voiced his disagreement and hinted that he will leave the party. Speaking to reporters, he said he does not want to be a minister even if Congress leaders come and give it to him. “They have already insulted me,” he said. He indirectly warned Congress leaders that he will take suitable decision with regard to leaving the party at the right time.

“If Congress comes to power, 15 MLAs will become ministers in the guise of seniority. The remaining MLAs are like spare parts. Why should I point fingers only at Ramalinga Reddy? Everybody’s is the same story. I was assured of ministerial berth. Several people have received repeated opportunities. If that is the case, what should people like me do? I was called during cabinet expansion last time and assured of cabinet berth. Therefore, I was expecting an opportunity. But I am cheated,” he said in anguish.

“The cabinet berth for three Congress MLAs are assured. I will not go to anybody’s house door for the berth. I have been insulted enough. I have decided not to join the cabinet. I will not ask for cabinet berth even afterwards. I will not agree even if they personally approach me,” he said in anger.

First learn to serve the people who have elected you as their MLA. Work sincerely for your constituency for some years.
No need to be a minister to serve the people. You will be successful again in the next election if you work hard.
You will be a minister if your people bless you for the good work you have done.
