Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, May 7: In a scary incident that occurred at around 7.30 pm on Monday, May 6, at the Majestic Metro station in the city, a man in his forties was found to possess a suspicious object in his waist during the metal detector test. When the security personnel questioned him on the object, he escaped from the station.

The security personnel brought this to the notice of the higher officials. Ravi D Channanavar, DCP of Bengaluru West rushed to the spot, conducted the inspection and has provided high alert to the train station.

A man in his forties entered the Majestic Metro train station and the security on duty observed himm while passing through the metal detector. The detector made a weird sound and spotted that the man is in possession of a suspicious metal object near his waist. The security asked the person to pass through the metal detector again. The detector sounded the same the second time also.

The man, who was wearing a long Kandoor (Arabic style of dress), lifted the dress in order to show the object to the security but suddenly went out from that entrance. Then he tried to enter the premises by jumping over the gate. But the security personnel did not allow him. It is said that he even offered to pay Rs one crore if he is allowed to go inside. The security personnel brought this matter to the notice of the senior security officer on duty. However, by the time the senior officer arrived, the man made good his escape. It is said that the suspected person was speaking in Hindi.

Giving details of the incident, DCP Ravi D Channanavar said, "Three teams are formed under the leadership of ACP Mahant Reddy to trace the unknown person. The CCTV footage is being checked for more clues. So far no information is available with regards to the identity or the origin of the suspected person. He will be arrested soon and investigation will be carried out. The public should not pay heed to rumours and be bold."

For some time there was a tense situation at the Majestic Metro station on the evening of yesterday due to this incident. However, after the arrival of DCP Channannavar, along with the bomb disposal squad and canine squad the situation as brought under control and the public heaved a sigh of relief. All the movements of the suspected person are captured on the CCTV.

The security alert is on high throughout the country after the serial bomb blasts on the Easter Day at Sri Lanka. In the midst of these anxious moments, rumours were also making rounds on social media that a suspected terrorist has entered the city. Now this incident has increased the worries of the public in general.

This is ridiculous on part of the security staff to let that idiot go without hand-cutting or better still chaining him. Police would have got all information and his intentions. This great escape can prove dangerous for the country. He should be caught as soon as possible by hook or crook.

Do you think a terrorist in that kind of a getup is real?? The only thing missing was a placard around his neck proclaiming- I am an ISIS terrorist. Come and get me.

And the security at the metro station is one more bunch of jokers. They find something suspicious around the guys waist and instead of arresting and taking him away from such a high footfall area, they allow him to engage them in a conversation where he offered them Rs. 1 crore to allow him to enter the metro station. And then unbelievably the guy escapes.

This is better than slap stick comedy. Put the complete CCTV video on the National TV. Maybe you will get some companies to sponsor it and make money out of it.

All including the security personnel watching the show and now 3 teams to catch him? or waiting him to do some damage?
This is our low point, we are good in watching show and then run behind. Now securities running like a chicken to catch this person. work was very easy when they arrest suspicious person in the metro station.

What is the point in doing a security check , if the one suspect they found they could not detain?? It shows how low-skilled and untrained the security personnel were at the Metro. They should either disband the security or employ better trained and efficient personnel. This one would be a huge tragedy if the escaped suspect was a terrorist planning some sort of attack. Terrible!

Arrest that security officials for not detaining the person with suspicious object. In case that person has offered them one crore to let him in, there was enough time for them to detain him. Are they appointed there for a Joke??
