Mangaluru: FMMCH introduces advanced procedure of Bronchial Artery Embolisation

Mangaluru, Apr 12: Brining in yet another special facility, Father Muller Medical College Hospital introduced a newer advanced procedure of Bronchial Artery Embolization. 

It was done successfully on two patients under Dr Don Mascarenhas, head of the Respiratory Medicine department and Dr Dileep, interventional radiologist. These two patients had massive bleeding in the lungs which could not be controlled by medicine. 

Bleeding was life threatening and patient needed emergency procedure. The patient recovered and was discharged within three days of the procedure. The procedure is done in very few centres in India.
