Kuwait, Apr 4: In the world of showbiz, there are numerous stars surfacing from time to time – some sparkle in the limelight while some burn out silently. There are few who make a rock-solid place for themselves in the hearts of fans and admirers.

One such star who needs no introduction is Olavo Rodrigues, simply known as O’luv, a star who has shot to meteoric fame and holds a pride of place in Goa’s entertainment world.

O’luv stands out as an amazing entertainer, and is still climbing the ladder of popularity charts.

The star will be in action at Goencho Avaz, live musical evening with famed Goan singer Cielda Pereira on April 26 at Kuwait Boys Scout Association Auditorium, Hawally, 4.30pm.

O’luv is a special invitee guest performer along with Sri Lanka live band.

The show is being organised by Indian Arts & Culture, Gabriel Felix Fernandes popularly known as Felix de Merces is the chief event coordinator.

The event is a Charity Show in aid of Udant – a less fortunate children’s NGO in Santa Cruz, Goa which lives by its slogan ‘Live Smart, Carry On Safe’ for an essence of positive living.

Signature act of O’luv

The superstar last performed in Kuwait in 2016 for the musical ‘Love You Goa’.

If someone can create music with the combination of a comb and a mere piece of paper, it is indeed a phenomenon in itself. This seems to have become a sort of signature act of O’luv that has fascinated audiences all over and left many mesmerised.

O’luv stands apart from other range of Goan singers and musicians with his ability to make sweet music a self-made mechanism. He sings in languages ranging from Portuguese, Hindi, Marathi, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, etc, as fluently as he sings in English and Konkani.

O’luv is now regarded as a pioneer of Konkani pop. Though he has few albums to his credit, he has become a hit with everyone – young and old, Goans and non-Goans.

International stardom and awards

O’luv has had the privilege of singing with legendary singers such as Lorna, Sudesh Bhosle, Sadhna Sargam, etc, and has performed at International events and shows including the prestigious Jazz Festival in Netherlands.

Oluv’s Konkani album ‘Love You Goa’ was nominated at the 6th Global Konkani Music Awards at Mangalore in 2014.The young singer was awarded Yuva Srujan Puraskar by Goa Government for his excellence in the field of music.

O'luv - early years

Having been discovered by Late Chris Perry, Oluv knew he was meant to be a singer right from his early years, he took to the stage at the age of 7.

In his early years, O’luv acted in various plays, and came out winner in every singing competition he participated, be it at the village level, all-Goa, school, college or church.

Hailing from the scenic village of Chinchinim, the versatile singer was once called ‘Chinchinim’s precious gift to Konkani stage’ which further boosted his confidence and there was no looking back.

It was his quest for performing with a winning streak which has never diminished, and today we have among us a multitalented pop singer, an inspiration to the new wave of pop singers emerging out of Goa representing Konkani Pop.

The talented star is perhaps branded as one of the ambassadors of Goa to make Konkani known globally.

O’luv is surely an amazing package for the Kuwait audience; he is an unquestionable heart-stealer and is sure to prove his mettle as the undisputed Pop star of Goa.
