Kasargod: Thieves break into house in family's absence, take away gold

Kasargod, Mar 25: Unknown thieves who entered the house of N S Ibrahim at Amekkala near Perla within the limits of Badiadka police station took away 26 sovereigns of gold ornaments and Rs 5,000 in cash.

Ibrahim's daughter and son-in-law were to return to Dubai on Monday. Therefore, the family members had left for Kasargod to do some shopping on Saturday afternoon. When they returned late in the night, they found that their house had been burgled.

The thieves had broken open the door of the ground floor of the two-storied building and taken away gold and cash kept in an almirah. The thieves also were found to have strewn things around in an apparent bid to search for more valuables.

The police along with sniffer dogs and finger print experts visited and surveyed the scene of theft.
