Thank You readers: Rs 6.10 lac pours in for Dolphy Machado

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (SB)

Mangaluru, Mar 23: Dolphy Machado, a resident of Bondel has expressed his gratitude to Daijiworld readers, who turned Good Samaritans and helped him with financial aid for medicine when life looked bleak.

After publishing about the poor health condition of Dolphy on February 21, the readers of Daijiworld from various corners of the world responded quickly, by extending him a helping hand. As per the bank statement of Dolphy’s account on March 20, a total of Rs 6.10 lac rupees have been credited by benefactors.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Dolphy said, “I really do not know how to thank the readers who showed mercy on me. Their helping hands made me think about living in this world for some more days. Like an angel they came to my rescue. I am grateful to all those who helped me both financially and through prayers.”

60-year-old Dolphy Machado is married but he does not have the gift of children. He experienced illness for the first time last year when he was working at a construction site. When he went for a medical checkup he was stunned to hear that he is suffering from kidney cancer.

As a medication for his ailment, the doctor suggested him to take a tablet by the name SUTENT, the cost of which amounts to Rs 1.5 lac per month and he needs to take this tablet for 10 continuous months in order to stay alive. But being a coolie worker at construction site, Dolphy and his wife were not able to manage the astronomical sum.

When Daijiworld came to know of Dolphy’s struggles, they appealed readers not let him continue in sorrow and misery. Immediately the readers responded and succeeded to bring a smile on Dolphy and his wife’s face.

We at Daijiworld thank our readers for once again joining hands to help a needy family. Let us together make this world a better place.

Your generosity helped them too:

    Dear Daijiworld.

Overwhelmed by the response. just the name daijiworld makes a difference for people to trust and contribute for a cause. A big thanks to all donors. May God bles them and their families.

I have spoken to many on Daijiworld charity column most of them saying very meagre help received. There should be some way where people receive aid as per their want. while some receive max. aid few donot receive any aid. If daijiworld could start some crowdfunding website it would be very helpful since people will know end of the day how much money has been received by the suffering , so that every individual gets aid.

Urge daijiworld to please look into the matter.

I think we should contribute again because the collected amount will not suffice even for 5 months. He has to take medicines at 1.5 lakhs per month for 10 months plus he has to have food too.
