Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Mar 18: The Range Rover car that is used by chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has violated the traffic rules twice in the month of February. Both the violations were captured on the traffic cameras. A notice in this regard is sent to Kasturi Media Company, under whose name, the car is registered.

One violation pertains to the driver speaking over the mobile phone while driving the car. This has occurred on February 10 under the limits of Sadashivnagar police station. The second violation is that of over speed that is recorded in the camera on February 22 at Basaveshwara circle of the city. This violation attracts a fine of Rs 300.

Notices of both the violations were sent to the address of the concerned company. However, the company has still not paid the total fine amount of Rs 600 according to the senior police officers.

“CM Kumaraswamy is not using the government car. He uses private car. If the fine is not paid within the prescribed time limit, the car will be stopped in public and fine will be collected,” says the police department.

The police also informed that the Range Rover car which has violated the traffic rules belongs to the chief minister. There is no chance that it can escape without paying the fine. If they do not pay the fine on their own, necessary action will be taken.

Why CM ,in Mangalore also only 20% of those who get notices for traffic violation actually pay the fine, rest go scott free. I have this information through RTI. This has to change, actually court cases have to be filled against those who do not pay fine. I have complained about this to the new Police Commissioner and he has promised to take action.

If failed to pay the fine, please issue arrest warrant. And confiscate the vehicle. This is the common procedure for the common man.

Rules must be equal to all. I have seen central Government ministers are running in a high speed especially while going to the Airport. And our Police are not booking the case but also running the vehicles in same over speed along with them.
