Mangaluru: Babri Expo programme at Ullal - SDPI district president booked

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Feb 7: Ullal police have registered a Suo Moto case against Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) Dakshina Kannada district unit president, Athaulla Jokatte, who had organized Babri Expo programme at Ullal on February 1 under the aegis of SDPI.

SDPI had organized Babri Expo programme near Sayyed Madani Dargah, Ullal on February 1 this year, demanding reconstruction of Babri Masjid. A short play showing crashing of the mosque, performing puja of Lord Rama, and RSS leaders going in procession with ringing bells in their hands, was staged on the occasion. The police personnel who were present at the spot had reported the matter to senior police officials, duly attaching video clip of the programme.

Under instructions from senior police officials, case under sections 505, 298, 153A, 149 and 105 of Indian Penal Code and also 109 of Karnataka Police Act was registered in Ullal police station. The police said they registered the case as they came across resentment among the general public about at holding this programme.

This incident gave rise to charges being exchanged between political rivals. SDPI leader, Riaz Farangipet, in a press conference, accused Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, U T Khader, of ensuring that this case is registered. He also held protest against the police for registering the complaint on Tuesday.

Congress leaders however claim that the minister has nothing to do with this case and his name is being dragged into the controversy unnecessarily.

NO Suo Moto case against BJP MP who threatens to set Karnataka district on ‘fire’ BUT a Suo Moto case against SDPI DK District Unit President, Athaulla Jokatte, who had organized Babri Expo.

Double standards abound. State authorities must ensure that growing trend of Islamophobia needs to be stopped in its tracks. Hate against Muslims or any religion must be condemned.

As said that the demolition of Babri Masjid was an assault on this country’s constitution. And at times Indian system too proved that there is no law other than the power and made constitution ashamed.

Learn to forgive, forget and move on. Such type of Lestweforget non-sense is the reason why we have so much communal hatred in our country. Does Lord Ram require a mandir to live or does Allah need a masjid to live in? Then why do the faithfuls need to fight over such a silly issue ? As long as there is rule of law in the country, nothing will happen in Ayodhya and status quo will be maintained. But then jokers from Chaddi gang and likes of this Ataullah fellow are there in the game only to spread hatred and garner votes.

Yes .I agree with you. Its not a matter of Ram Mandir or Babri Masjid. Its purely a matter of EGO .Moreover those in power will come up with various excuses and not build ram mandir deliberately because, once it is build, there are no ISSUES to communalise between Hindus and Muslims

    Dear Sandesh Kanchan…

There is problem with “forgive, forget & move” on this? It would be sacrilegious to let it go. And let’s ensure that not to repeat of Babri Masjid demolition will not happen with any other mosque.

YES this demolition caused more hatred within society. And the best way to recover the peace is rebuilding of the Babri Masjid in the same site and punish the culprits involved in the demolition.

And Laws, Judiciary are being held ultimate in India. We Muslims have confidence in the democracy and put hope on the Supreme Court for justice.

Remembrance is the first defence, so #LestWeForget #BabriMasjid.
