Don't promise what you cannot deliver. This fella took advantage of a trusting girl, duped her and then
    want his "freedom"!?

Its not surprising that such things happen and more may happen - Stiff punishment and some jail time
will teach many more "copy cats" a GOOD LESSON.

My heart-felt sympathies to the "poor girl"

With all his promises he forgot to marry her?Since years promises and have sex.Girl too should have stopped the relationship when he was not ready to marry.or her parents should have approached his parents regarding this relationship. Now he will definately not marry her .He should be punished for luring her.It is not worth of marrying him.
