Is he a VIP to get police escort & that too by the Highway Patrol?? This is misuse of public funds for private function. The Traffic Commissioner needs to resign over this scandal. The incident should be probed by Lok-Ayukta, not the DC or other police departments. Finally a sume of 50laks to be paid as compensation.

Very sad and RIP the elderly couple. Wasting tax payers money by using the police highway patrol, we do not have proper ambulances in our country but we use vehicles for private people.

What you said is true but in prevailing communal situation in Udupi/ dk any incident involving swamiji will have major consequences irrespective of who is responsible. The police will atleast be impartial witnesses.

    Very Sad.
By the way, who was the Police HighWay Patrol vehicle escorting? Unnecessarily using Police force to force ordinary people out.
