Bantwal: Eighth standard student commits suicide on Children's Day

Bantwal, Nov 14: In a heart-wrenching incident that occurred under the limits of Punjalakatte police station limits, a girl student studying in eighth standard killed herself by jumping into the well.

Shradda (13), a resident of Mannur of Irvathur village of the taluk is the unfortunate student who committed suicide. She was studying in Punjalakatte government higher primary school. The exact reason for this extreme step by the girl is not known.

Punjalakatte police are investigating further.

    Im being a counselor it's hard to get touch with School /Colleges....Most of the management don't encourage counselor has they are 100% result oriented they won't think of total development of students...teachers take it as complaint if they refer to counselor....teachers and parents should think of its does not work by scolding but its only with emotional understanding of students...pls verberlize the feelings of students and try to slove it......I think u agree with my point..

    Yes.. Very true..counseling is a must for growing children. Some schools have counseling sessions.

    Im being a counselor it's hard to get touch with School /college students...Management does not encourage to have couselors...it's all 100% Result orriented..They won't think about total development of the students...Teachers take as complaint if they refer to the counselors...But here nobody things of personal growth of students....only few school /college have counselors......If you really think of this please do agree with me...9844690230

    Schools should start counselling centres compulsorily. Parents should be friendly with their children and good guide for them.

    Parents neglecting childrens needs in growing age. Parents totally busy in worldy things, childrens busy in tabs and internet. No moral teachings, no advice from grand parents because of nano families where grand parents away or in old age homes. Religious heads busy in political things... Busy world...

    Coman man Udipi,we shouldnt give the reasons for childrens suecide always to parents.Present days children see other children are having modern mobiles ,money and play things which a poor family cant afford togive to them .If I am not mistaken girl was studying in govt.school means a poor family.may be she wanted something which family couldnt give her ,many children almost demand and suppose they dont give threaten them she or he will jump in well or hang etc.Parents must have not reacted thinking it is a threat.But we dont know what exactly happen.Heartfelt sympathy to the family.may her soul rest in peace.whether she jumped into the well or was thrown ?is another question.
