Mangaluru: KNS stages Konkani comedy drama ‘Ashi tashi tashi ashi jali kashi pishim ’

Mangaluru, Nov 5: Konkani comedy-drama ‘Ashi tashi tashi ashi jali kashi pishim ’ was staged on Sunday, November 4, at Don Bosco Hall in city by Konkani Natak Sabha (KNS).

Prior to the drama, a brief stage programme was held in which Fr Melwyn Pinto from Fathima Retreat House, Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza, president, KNS, Judith D’Souza, Jossy Theodore, Gerry Concessao graced the dais.

 

Wishing the KNS and drama artists Fr Melwyn Pinto said, "KNS knows the pulse of drama lovers. It values the artistes. Its contribution to Konkani drama and other cultural activities is commendable. Thousands of people started their journey from this stage and became well known in various forms of fine arts. Now KNS is celebrating its Platinum Jubilee. Being an established organization, it should continue its work. At the same time, I congratulate all the artistes who are going to perform today. The houseful crowd in the hall itself is a witness for the popularity of this drama,"

In his welcome speech Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza said "KNS presented many dramas this year, which is its platinum jubilee year. The process of dramas is still continuing. Today, we are going to stage the drama, which was a popular drama that was staged 17 years ago. Majority of the artistes are the same. So it will be a wonderful show. In the coming days, we will organize many programmes related to drama and acting,"

Senior artistes Jossy Rego, Denis Monteiro and Jerome Moras were felicitated by KNS during the stage programme.

Jaison Lobo Bondel, Elton Pinto Bajjodi, Velita Lobo Kulshekar, Ivan Sequeira Valencia sang the songs that were penned and composed by legend late Wilfy Rebimbus in between the scenes.

Floyd D’Mello Cascia compered the event.

The two and half hour drama enthralled the audience through its story, comedy and acting. Konkani's senior and popular stage artistes acted in the drama. The drama was directed by Dolla Mangaluru and written originally by Dinesh Kankanady in Tulu.

    "Oshim Koshim Zalim Pishim' comedy play was an all time hit! Don Bosco Hall was jam packed with audience after a long time. Congratulations to DSP (Director Special) Dolla and all the artists for their brilliant performance. Congratulations to all the artists who were felicititated by KNS.
