Davangere: #SlapToo: Woman thrashes finance company manager for asking sex for loan

Daijiworld Media Network - Davangere

Davangere, Oct 16: A manager of a finance company was thrashed in full public view by a woman, after he allegedly asked her sexual favours in exchange to approve a loan she had applied for.

The woman had applied for a loan of Rs 2 lac at DHFL loan agency in Davangere. The manager of the firm identified as Devaiyya, allegedly asked the woman sexual favours. Furious with his demand, the woman held him by his collar and kicked, punched and slapped him.

She also hit the manager with a cane and her slippers. One of the spectators recorded the incident, and shared the same with ANI.

The video is being circulated, especially after the #MeToo movement has been gaining momentum in different parts of the country.

We all know if reported to police what would be the result. Police at the most would summon the manager and warned and this manager would make sure her loan will not approve

What do you think when he asked sex to approve loan? He deserves so that no man will dare to ask for sex to approve whatever citizens need.

Agree with the points made by Anseema Beary below.

One cannot take law into one's own hands. The woman certainly had the opportunity to capture the necessary evidence and take the matter further in a lawful manner. She, with some support of others, created the circus to publicly humiliate someone.

Public humiliation, by itself, should be treated as a criminal assault.

Conversely, the banks must have proper processes to follow when dealing with the loan applications. The institutions of all types in India have always been harsher towards their customers - when compared to the institutions in more advanced countries.

INDIAN PENAL CODE, TAKING LAW INTO HANDS, all sounds very nice to discuss in forums and lectures. We have law in place for every type of crime.
But pain is in the enforcement. How many criminals are getting convicted? Almost every criminal has a political godfather. Instead of going through hell, she handled it herself. Brave lady. It will be a lesson for predators like these.

Why she is taking the law in to her hands there are police and authorities to care of this. This looks like a publicity stunt. Why no one cares for the harassment of men at the hands of women? Many a times women are responsible for the behavior of men as they talk too nicely to get their work done. Most of the men pushed to hell due to the wife harassment after marriage and they live like a dead men fearing the consequences if they go against their wives!!!

Woman empowerment does not entitle her to beat some one. There is law enforcing agencies, police etc. . Mr. Langoo, if women take law in their own hands, and if you or or dear ones are subjected in a similar manner, what would be your reaction?

I do not support the man for his behaviour but at the same time that woman also has no right to beat somebody. Then why do we want law enforcing agencies in the country and why do we need law? . This is nothing but Jungle Raj. Place yourself in that mans position. And think. Mark my words, if the man has committed wrong, he needs punishment but that does not entitle others to take law in their own hands and the INDIAN PENAL CODE does not have such provision, except for self defense which is available for all, including yourself. Jai Hind.
