Mangaluru: VGST Research Grant sanctioned to Yenepoya Institute of Technology

Mangaluru, Oct 2: Vision Group on Science and Technology (VGST), department of Information Technology, Bio Technology and Science & Technology, government of Karnataka, has sanctioned Rs 30 lac grant under Centre of Innovative Science and Engineering Education (CISEE) scheme to department of Engineering Physics, Yenepoya Institute of Technology (YIT), Moodbidri.

This grant has been sanctioned to the research project entitled ‘Synthesis of Biocompatible Nanoparticles and their Enhanced Biological Effects with and without Radiation – A Health Protective Measurement” submitted by Dr Santhosha Acharya, associate professor and head, department of Engineering Physics at YIT.

The scheme is aimed to strengthen infrastructural facilities and promotion of research along with skill development and quality of teaching.

Principal and the research promotion group at YIT were of the opinion that this is a great encouragement to the on-going research activities in the YIT campus.

The management said that this grant will create further facilities for the scholars registered in the research centre of physics department at YIT. It is now the responsibility of the research scholars and the principal investigator to achieve the goals in the sanctioned project.
