Frank Coelho elected president of Bangalore Konkani Catholic Sangh

Bengaluru, Aug 7: Bangalore Konkani Catholic Sangh had its annual general body meeting (AGM) and elections for the year 2018-20 in Holy Cross Hall, Maruti Nagar in city recently.

Office-bearers for the year 2018-20 were elected on the occasion.

AGM was commenced led by the association members. President William Pinto welcomed the gathering along with respecting past presidents and founders of the association. Antony M Lobo read out the last AGM report and it was approved by the past presidents. Alwyn Rasquinha secretary of the association presented the annual activities and it was approved in the meeting with few suggestions to made by the members present.

Maxim Lobo, treasurer gave the balance sheet to the members and clarified the doubts of the associations’ funds.

Member’s children who got above 90% in both 10th and PUC were honored along with their parents by the Fr Amaldas, parish priest, St Anthony’s Friary Church, Madiwala. Speaking to the gathering, he said, “ I am very much happy to have full support from the association in the activities of the church. I will extend my full support to the association for its good works for the community, church and society. Our church began its Tuesday’s Konkani Mass to make sure that Konkani community benefited with regards to their religious needs. But sadly there are only few people attending the Mass. I will be happy if the association encourages Konkani people to attend this Mass along with the novena to St Anthony of Padua,” He said.

Outgoing president William Pinto thanked all the past presidents, office bearers association members and his family for their continuous support during his 4 years of presidential tenure. He also wished all good success for the future committee to uphold the prestige of the association.

Charles Gomes founder president of Kanara Entrepreneur, Bengaluru who presided the election being at the venue as Election Returning Officer. The election was opened for the post of president, secretary, vice president, joint secretary and treasurer’s post. The below listed members were elected anonymously by the members.
Alwyn Rasquinha thanked all the members. Annual general Body meeting was concluded with fellowship dinner for the members.
