Rome: Mangalurean community celebrates Monthi Fest

Rome, Sep 20: Members of the Mangalurean community celebrated Monthi Fest in Rome on September 17.

Fr Anthony Pinto from Mangalore diocese, who is pursuing his studies in Rome, was the main celebrant. Fr Richard Lasrado from Mangalore diocese, one of the co-celebrants, preached a touching homily about Mother Mary.

Mother General of Bethany Congregation and her two consulters, a number of sisters from the Congregation from Mangaluru and Goa were present. There were more than 35 priests in the Holy Mass.

Fr Deepak Tauro, parish priest and superior gave his church and house for the celebration.

Nancy from Katpadi took charge of the programme. She has been residing in Rome since 25 years. Nancy was the gurkar in the absence of Fr Peter Paul Saldanha who is on vacation.

There was an entertainment programme and also ‘Noven Jevan’ for the gathering.

Fr Charles Lasrado and a number of brothers pursuing studies here were present.
